Do I have to take A1–A8 to become a Master Technician?

Yes. ASE Master Automobile Technician status requires passing A1 through A8. A9 is optional and does not count toward Master status.

Can I take multiple ASE tests in one session?

Yes. Prometric test centers let you schedule multiple ASE tests back to back, but most technicians pass more consistently taking one test per session.

How often do the ASE tests change?

ASE reviews and updates each Task List roughly every 3–5 years. Always download the current Task List before starting to study.
